The Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF) program is tailored for working professionals. Its flexible, modular schedule allows students to balance their studies with their careers, enabling them to gain a robust financial education and earn a prestigious master's degree in just one year—while working full-time.

The program consists of six intensive in-person, on-site modules, with the first five lasting an average of seven days and the final module lasting two days. The classes take place on our campuses in Hong Kong, New York, and a rotating global location. During these modules, the cohort attends classes together to enhance financial acumen and explore new possibilities.

What is a Modular Format?

At MSGF, classes are organized into six in-person modules, each lasting seven days on average. During these modules, students attend full-day classes on campus. Between modules, students return to their home countries to complete the pre- and post-module work remotely and asynchronously. The six modules are held in six non-consecutive months over one year.

What is a Rotating Global Location?

Over the years, the world has witnessed remarkable developments across economies, bringing both challenges and opportunities to the finance industry. At the forefront of global finance education, MSGF aims to immerse our students in some of the most vibrant economies, offering firsthand market insights. This initiative is embodied in our concept of the rotating global location.

Each year, one module takes place in a rotating global location outside Hong Kong and New York. This location “rotates” from year to year to reflect the changes in the global finance market. Previous locations include Beijing and Shanghai.

In 2025, we are excited to announce our new rotating global location, Abu Dhabi. The Class of 2026, starting in November 2025, will attend Module 2 at the NYU Abu Dhabi campus.

Estimated Time Commitment

During the modules, classes typically run between 8:30 AM to 6 PM each day. Lunch will be provided, and there will be breaks between classes.

Before each module, students are typically required to complete pre-module assignments and/or readings at home to prepare for in-class learning. The total time commitment for the pre-module work is approximately 20-25 hours for each module.

After each module, students are required to complete post-module work at home by preset deadlines, which will be assessed for a letter grade. Each subject includes post-module work in the form of either a timed exam or an assignment. Generally, students will have 3 to 4 weeks to complete the assignments.
